We’re counting the days. Singer, song-writer Taylor Swift has, at last, announced her new album- “Lover!” This will be Swift’s seventh studio album, and it comes out August 23rd.
The 18-track collection features a lively dance tune, entitled “ME!” which she released as a single in April. The song’s colorful music video initially features Swift and pop star Brendon Urie as a couple fighting over their pet cats. The video continues with an explosion of colorful rainbow dance scenes where Taylor expresses her support for the LGBTQ Community.
Her follow-up single, “You Need to Calm Down,” is an even more politically-leaning banger. At one point, Taylor calls out homophobia… and in another case, she takes a swipe at misogyny (the hatred of women) in the pop world.
On June 1st, the first day of Pride month, Taylor Swift sent a letter to a Tennessee legislator to support the Equality Act. The bill expands the Civil Rights Act by prohibiting employers from discriminating against anyone because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
